Long-Baseline Neutrino Physics

Long-baseline neutrino experiments are focused on precision measurements of neutrino oscillation parameters. Much remains unknown about the texture of the neutrino sector of the Standard Model of particle physics. Why aren’t neutrino flavors and masses aligned? Which neutrino is the heaviest? How mixed-up are the different neutrino flavors? These features give rise to pronounced flavor oscillations, accessible by measuring neutrino interactions hundreds of kilometers away from their source.
