Dr. Bhat!

Shame on me for taking so long to post this, but, Congratulations to Dr. Avinay Bhat!   Avinay successfully defended his dissertation back in May, via Zoom (so no good photographs unfortunately), and told us all about his exciting work to develop tools to study MeV-scale physics in MicroBooNE.  Now he’s off to Yale for a postdoc working on neutrinoless double-beta decay.  Well done Avinay!

SBND Construction

Check out this cool tweet from @FNALNeutrinos highlighting the work of Monica Nunes, and colleagues, in building the SBND TPC at Fermilab!

Monica elected to Fermilab UEC

Postdoctoral researcher Monica Nunes was recently elected to the Fermilab Users Executive Committee (UEC), which is a group that helps look after quality of life at the lab, organizes the annual Users Meeting, and makes an annual trip to Washington D.C. to advocate for particle physics research funding.  She’s in good company, as former Syracuse postdoc Jonathan Asaadi is also on the current UEC.  Congratulations Monica!

Ohana elected to FSPA

We’ve been very bad about posting updates to this page, so over the next weeks I’ll be posting some group highlights from the past year.

Let’s start with some very recent good news.  Ohana was elected to the Fermilab Student and Postdoc Association.  Congratulations Ohana!  She joins good company, as current group members Monica and Abhilash, and former group member Jessica Esquivel, have served on the FSPA.  Fermilab’s young people are in good hands with these excellent folks representing.
