The long journey of the U.S.-made SBND APAs reaches a milestone.  Delivery of both APAs to Fermilab (along with the field-cage modules made by our Yale colleagues).  Now TPC construction can proceed full-speed ahead.  See some photos of the truck arriving, and Pip and company supervising the unloading.

The first US-made SBND APA has recently been completed!  The crew at Wright Laboratory have been working very hard to reach this milestone.  Watch the time-lapse video to see their progress over the last several months.  Wiring of APA #2 will start very soon.

Pip and Avinay have been hard at work wiring the first of 2 Anode Plane Assemblies (APAs) for the SBND experiment.  This is work being done in collaboration with our Yale colleagues, who are graciously hosting us at Wright Laboratory.  Several hundred wires are done, a few thousand more to go!

 

Congratulations to Jessica Esquivel, who defended her Ph.D. dissertation last week.   Jessica gave an excellent overview of her  thesis topic, “Muon/pion separation using Convolutional Neural Networks(CNNs) for the MicroBooNE charged current inclusive cross section measurement.”, and it was great to have her back in Syracuse for a few days.
